Weapon KE: ~0.6 J
Minibots: None
Titles: 3 Patterson-Seibert Tournaments (22, 27, and 29)

History
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 21
Floppy vs Fallen Windmill
Floppy's debut came against the powerful but inconsistent horizontal spinner Fallen Windmill, the previous tournament's #1 seed.
The fight was quite even, with neither bot able to land a big hit, but Floppy was able to tank the glancing hits from Fallen Windmill, and the spinner's bar began to bend. Eventually the bots collided hard enough for Floppy to lose a wheel pod. Fallen Windmill was also flipped, but it self-righted and Floppy was counted out.

Floppy vs Icewave

Fallen to 0-1, Floppy next fought another overhead horizontal, this one fellow rookie Icewave.
Floppy was able to get under Icewave early on and tip it over for a dominant KO and moved on as a 1-1 competitor. Its next opponent was Haymaker, a veteran flipper which had pioneered Floppy's own three-pods design.

Floppy vs Haymaker
Floppy charged straight at Haymaker, which maneuvered to the side, trying to bypass Floppy's front forks. However, the impact ripped Haymaker in half, and it was counted out. Floppy won another impressive victory, dethroning the original king of flippers.

Floppy vs Tank

Floppy defeated the offset horizontal by KO with a flip. Next up was the elimination bracket semifinal, where Floppy would face the reigning champion, the powerful vertical spinner Skeleton.

Floppy vs Skeleton
Ethan drove Skeleton and Dutch drove Floppy. Ethan deliberately tried to lose, as he wanted Floppy to get to the finals. On the tenth hit, Floppy got under Skeleton and flipped it over. When Ethan tried to wind up Skeleton's weapon to self-right, the rubber band pulled loose, and Floppy won by KO, advancing to the finals in its rookie season to face Chopper.

Floppy vs Chopper
Floppy lost, probably by KO, and finished as the runner-up.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 22
Floppy vs Fallen Windmill
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/battlebots/images/d/d2/Beta_Bloodsport_WCVII_slam.gif/revision/latest?cb=20230423164253
Floppy was again seeded against Fallen Windmill. This time, however, the first hit pushed the spinner's bar up on its shaft, effectively disabling it. Floppy controlled the match and won a judge's decision.

Floppy vs Tank
Floppy won for the second time. This win put it in the winners' bracket semifinal in another rematch, this one against Chopper.

Floppy vs Chopper
Floppy pulled off an upset win by KO, moving on to the finals undefeated.

Floppy vs Tank

Floppy flipped Tank and won by KO, taking its first Legobots championship.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 24
Floppy sat #23 out, returning for #24. It was seeded by Dutch's newer flipper Hydra, which had done well in #24.

Floppy vs Hydra
A long and brutal ramming match KO'd both flippers. The fight went to a double knockout judges' decision and Floppy lost, joining the elimination bracket.

Floppy vs Thumper
Floppy's next match was verses the rookie Thumper, which sported an eggbeater weapon.
Floppy took the hits and won the fight, advancing to the next round, where a rematch with Tank awaited it.

Floppy vs Tank
Floppy won for the fourth time, moving on to face Chopper again.

Floppy vs Chopper
Floppy won, eliminating Chopper, and moved to the finals to face Hydra again in the first ever flipper vs flipper final.

Floppy vs Hydra
Hydra again proved to be the lower bot, but lost one of its four wheels. Floppy kept attacking but then took a flip which landed one of its wheel pods upside down. Floppy was counted out and finished as the runner-up for the second time.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 25
Floppy vs Millibyte 2
Floppy won easily and advanced to the second round.

Floppy vs Chopper
Floppy defeated Chopper again.

Floppy vs Scrambler
Floppy lost to the eggbeater.
For unknown reasons, Floppy didn't get a fight in the elimination bracket.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 26
Floppy vs Scrambler
Floppy took a revenge win, likely by overturning Scrambler. Next up for the former champ was Fallen Windmill's descendant, MicroWave.

Floppy vs MicroWave
This very even fight went to JD, with both bots working well at the end. Floppy lost a close decision (6-5) and joined the losers' bracket, matched up against another overhead, this one Ethan's solid bot A Bone To Pick.

Floppy vs A Bone To Pick
Floppy won and moved on.

Floppy vs Scrambler
Floppy won again. Its next opponent was MicroWave, which had just been KO'd by Skeleton.

Floppy vs MicroWave
Floppy's wedge deflected MicroWave's blade more effectively than it had prior, and Ethan's bot won by decision. Floppy was now in the finals once more, but it would have to go through Skeleton to win a second title.

Floppy vs Skeleton
Floppy won a JD, putting the bots in a sudden-death rematch.

Floppy vs Skeleton
Floppy forfeited, since Ethan didn't want a rehash of the previous fight. Thus it fell at the last hurdle and was eliminated.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 27
Floppy vs Scrambler
Floppy was somehow seeded against Scrambler again. This time it lost, joining the elimination bracket.

Floppy vs A Bone To Pick
Floppy won this rematch. Next up was the high-speed vertical spinner Divider, which had defeated Chopper but fallen to Scrambler.

Floppy vs Divider
Floppy won, advancing for another rematch with MicroWave, which was coming off a win that eliminated Chopper.

Floppy vs MicroWave
Floppy won and MicroWave was eliminated.

Floppy vs Scrambler
Floppy won and entered the finals against Skeleton for the second time in as many seasons.

Floppy vs Skeleton
Floppy won.

Floppy vs Skeleton
Floppy won and was crowned champion for the second time.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 29
Floppy sat #27 out but returned for #28 fully ready. It was seeded against the winner of a prelim, who ended up being Dutch's rookie flipper Launch Break.

Floppy vs Launch Break
Floppy rammed Launch Break to pieces in one hit, moving on for yet another rematch with MicroWave.

Floppy vs MicroWave

Floppy rammed MicroWave into the air several times, also taking glancing impacts from the other bot's incredibly dangerous spinner. The fight went to JD and Floppy won Control but lost Aggression and Damage, losing the fight.

Floppy vs Cyclone 2
Floppy beat the full-body spinner easily.

Floppy vs Chopper
The fight, later described as "an absolute brawl" was fairly even throughout, with Floppy landing a flip and deflecting Chopper's hits. Late in the match Floppy took a massive hit that heavily damaged its wedge but broke Chopper apart. Chopper was counted out and Floppy moved on.

Floppy vs MicroWave
Floppy rammed MicroWave's chassis in two (a result of MicroWave's "Handle" attachment compromising its frame's strength) and won by KO. This put it in the final against Skeleton for no less than the third time.

Damage to MicroWave after the match.

Floppy vs Skeleton (twice)
Skeleton forfeited twice and Floppy took its third Legobots championship.
Floppy never competed in Legobots again, though it was set to enter Tournament 31 before being scrapped.

Trivia
  • Floppy fought more matches (38), won more fights (31), and took the championship more times (3) than any other flipper in history.
  • Floppy holds fourth place on the list of longest no-KO'd streaks, with 11 (tied with Chopper).

Brick colors and properties

Lego bricks come in many colors. Often, the properties of the brick materiel varies with color.

Brown/reddish brown
Brown and reddish-brown legos are usually significantly more brittle than pieces of other colors. This is due to an issue with the mixtures, which Lego says it has corrected.[1] For this reason, brown is almost never used in impactors or exposed armor.

Dark gray
Dark gray seems to be marginally softer than the average lego, but does not crack easily. This does not impact its performance in a significant way.

Light gray
Light gray is harder than dark gray but more brittle. This does not impact its performance in a significant way.

Eggbeaters
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
Bobcat, a powerful eggbeater spinner built by Dutch.

Eggbeater spinners are eggbeater-shaped spinning weapons. They are often considered a subgroup of drums. The first legobot to use this type of weapon was Death Rattle. The most competitive eggbeater was David's bot Scrambler, which took 3rd place twice and went 1-1 against two-time champion Hydra. After this there was a lull in eggbeater success until in Patterson-Seibert Tournament 34 the rookie Manta upset former runner-up Undertaker in a dramatic slugfest.

Advantages
  • Eggbeaters can hit very hard, storing much more energy than bars or disks of the same diameter and RPM.
  • Eggbeaters usually have superior tip speed to drums, giving them the advantage in weapon-to-weapon hits. In fact, Manta's tip speed surpasses almost all other recent verts', which helped it triumph against Undertaker.
Disadvantages
  • Eggbeaters, given their rather air-filled shapes, are usually more fragile than most other weapons.

History
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 33
Free Ripping vs RadioWave
Free Ripping's debut came in a qualifier match against the durable horizontal spinner RadioWave.
Free Ripping first landed a hit on RadioWave that damaged the horizontal's front armor but sheared a chunk out of one of its own impactor plates. The second hit spilled more pieces out of RW. The third hit blew RW's armor apart, took out all its contact points, knocked its handle off the back, and put a nick in one of the frame members deep in the chassis. RadioWave was dead in the water and Free Ripping won its first ever match by a shockingly impressive KO. However, it would next be tested against the reigning champion, fellow FBS Chopper.
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
Damage inflicted on RadioWave by Free Ripping. Much of the front armor was damaged, the entire bottom of the chassis was gone, and the handle was knocked off the back. However, the frame was largely undamaged despite taking a direct hit.

Free Ripping vs Chopper
Free Ripping blew Chopper to pieces in two hits and moved on for a match with another top—this one last tournament's runner-up and rookie sensation Unnamed II.

Free Ripping vs Unnamed II (winners' bracket semifinals)
Free Ripping KO'd Unnamed II as well, moving on to the finals to face the winner of the elimination bracket—this turned out to be Unnamed II.

Free Ripping vs Unnamed II (final)
Free Ripping scored another quick KO and won the title, being the first rookie to do so since Tearnado III in tournament #18.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 34
Free Ripping vs Spinster
The champ's first opponent of the tourney was Spinster, a rookie top spinner. The first hit was impressive and lightly damaged both robots. This was followed by two misses. On the next collision Free Ripping sent Spinster flying with a sheared-off tooth. This left Spinster unbalanced and it was counted out, giving Free Ripping the win by KO.

Free Ripping vs Manticore
Next up for Free Ripping was the flipper Manticore, which had just beaten MicroWave by knockout.
Free Ripping tore into Manticore's chassis and blew the entire bot apart in four hits, even shearing off a technic piece.

Free Ripping vs Chopper (winners' bracket semifinal)
Free Ripping smashed Chopper to bits in only three impacts, winning yet another victory by KO. However, since Chopper won the losers' bracket semifinal against MicroWave, Free Ripping had to fight it again.

Free Ripping vs Chopper (final)
Free Ripping broke Chopper in two again and David tapped out. Free Ripping won its second consecutive Legobots championship.

All-Team Tournament 6.0
Free Ripping vs RadioWave
Free Ripping immediately got to work slamming its blades into RW, and on the second hit the horizontal spinner's 90-gram Disk shot off and flew through the air, flying into a nearby couch and bouncing off to narrowly miss Ethan's head. On the third hit RW was flipped and counted out, giving Free Ripping its ninth win straight by KO.

Free Ripping vs Not That Cute
Not That Cute was Trent's most successful entry, a large top spinner. Free Ripping battered NTC into pieces but was unable to fully KO it and the fight went to a decision. Free Ripping won it and advanced to face Chopper once again.

Free Ripping vs Chopper (winners' bracket semifinal)
Free Ripping KO'd Chopper in six hits and advanced to the finals to face Not That Cute for the second time.

Free Ripping vs Not That Cute (final)
Free Ripping did far worse this time, taking heavy damage and losing by KO in only two hits, its first loss. However, since it was the leading finalist, a second final was held.

Free Ripping vs Not That Cute (final)
Free Ripping was back in form, battering Not That Cute and splitting it into several pieces, but since NTC was designed with contact points under the impactors, it was able to keep fighting. On the eighth hit, Not That Cute's remaining section was flipped and counted out. Free Ripping was declared champion... until about one minute later when a smaller (but still substantial) chunk of NTC with a remaining contact point was spotted. On the tenth hit Free Ripping took a hit which left it stranded and counted out. Free Ripping was, to everyone's shock, eliminated.

Trivia
  • No opponent lasted more than five or six hits against Free Ripping in its first nine matches.
  • All Free Ripping's opponents up until Manticore (and since) were/are some sort of horizontal spinners.

Stats
Length: ~8 inches
Weight: ~400 grams

History
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 31
Launch Break II vs MicroWave
LBII was seeded against veteran MicroWave, a powerful horizontal spinner.
LBII's wedge deflected MicroWave's spinner and the latter lost its weapon to a weapon mount failure and tapped out. LBII took the upset and advanced to the next round to face Undertaker.

Launch Break II vs Undertaker
LBII took repeated shots from Undertaker's massive spinner which tossed Undertaker into the air, but held up fairly well until Undertaker's weapon hub split and it, too, tapped out. LBII won a second upset victory and continued on, next facing three-time champion Chopper.

Launch Break II vs Chopper (winners' bracket semifinal)
On the first hit Chopper bounced off LBII's front. On the second LBII was outmaneuvered and took a hit to the left wheel guard. The next hit removed the wheels on that side and LBII was counted out, receiving its first loss and joining the losers' bracket.

Launch Break II vs MicroWave (elimination bracket semifinal)
LBII forfeited, as Dutch wanted to focus on MicroWave for the finals.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 32
Launch Break II vs RadioWave
LBII's first opponent was RadioWave, a MicroWave alternate design. LBII got under RadioWave in the first engagement and got a big flip which landed the spinner on its back. RadioWave struggled to self-right but was aided by LBII, which flipped it again, landing it right side up. The remainder of the fight consisted of LBII being unable to get a flip and RadioWave failing to get good engagement with its spinner. LBII won a judges' decision and advanced to the next round to face fellow flipper Pancake.
This fight earned LBII the record for the highest-energy flip ever.

Launch Break II vs Pancake
LBII proved to have the superior ground game with its sharpened forks and got under Pancake, but was unable to get a flip. Pancake surgically rammed off two of LBII's wheels and it was counted out, joining the losers' bracket.

Launch Break II vs Unnamed II
LBII repeatedly tanked shots from Unnamed II before the latter sniped LBII's right side wheels, taking them off. LBII was counted out and eliminated, this being its third loss by losing its wheels.

Chopper continued to damage Skeleton's wedge and won a JD.

Chopper vs Launch Break II (winners' bracket final)
Chopper's next match was against another rookie flipper in Dutch's Launch Break II. Chopper failed to get enough engagement on LBII's wedge in the first hit. On the second David outmaneuvered Dutch and ripped off one of LBII's wheel guards. As the guard was the only thing keeping the wheels from sliding off the axle, Dutch was forced to drive much more cautiously. Chopper landed another hit which knocked both left-side wheels off entirely and won by KO.

Chopper vs MicroWave (finals)

Chopper's first hit was straight to the front armor and knocked MicroWave into the air. After this MicroWave was able to engage with its weapon and the hits sent both bots flying. The bots then went weapon-to-weapon in a massive hit that knocked MicroWave's weapon shaft out of the mounting in a similar fashion to what had happened to RadioWave twice earlier. With no weapon MicroWave was reduced to a wedgebot which Chopper quickly flipped. Chopper won by KO and took the championship for the fourth time.

Chopper next fought David's flipper Pancake. Chopper inflicted heavy damage and Pancake dropped out and Chopper advanced to the finals once more to face Unnamed II again.

Chopper vs Unnamed II (finals)
The first hit from Unnamed II took a chunk out of Chopper's base plate. Chopper was able to control the fight fairly well but took more damage until on the tenth hit Unnamed II lost a contact point. Chopper took the championship for the fifth time.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 33
Chopper vs Free Ripping
Chopper's first fight was verses Ethan's superheavyweight top spinner Free Ripping, a rookie that had just destroyed RadioWave in three hits. The first hit sent the tops flying in opposite directions. On the second impact, Chopper exploded, blasted into at least a dozen pieces. Chopper was counted out, taking its first loss in eleven fights, and joined the elimination bracket. David conducted extensive repairs after this match because of how destroyed Chopper was.

Chopper vs RadioWave
Chopper and RW attacked, fully spun up. RW tried to do MicroWave's signature anti-top "weapon dive", but its entire weapon blade flew off on the second hit and it was flipped over. Chopper won by KO and advanced to the next round to face fellow David build Pancake Mix.

Chopper vs Pancake Mix
Chopper won by tapout and advanced to fight MicroWave once again.

Chopper vs MicroWave
Chopper absolutely wrecked MicroWave in one hit, splitting the frame, dislodging the drive axle, and ripping all the plates off the bottom of the body. MicroWave's weapon slowly spun down with its wheel, and it was rendered immobile. MicroWave was counted out and Chopper won via an incredibly destructive KO.

Chopper vs Unnamed II (elimination bracket semifinal)
With a rematch from last tournament's final, Chopper had to fight Unnamed II in order to enter the finals. David made sure Chopper was in peak condition for this fight. However, the first hit blew it to pieces once more. The base still had a contact point and could technically still fight, but David tapped out and Chopper was eliminated.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 34
Chopper vs Ender

First up for Chopper was the rookie vertical disk spinner Ender, built by Dutch specifically to counter hard-hitting tops. Ender lacked significant weapon power and reach, but boasted an extremely durable frame and thick front plow.
On the first engagement, Chopper outmaneuvered Ender and landed a hit on the left side of its front, ripping the entire plow off. The shock of the impact also disabled the gearing for Ender's spinner. David celebrated and on the next series of hits Chopper landed huge shots to the front of Ender, spinning it almost entirely around in the air once and taking off its front self-righter. Ender's spinner came in and out of operation before stopping for good. Then David hopped Chopper up for an "aerial attack" which further damaged Ender's weapon system. On the sixth charge a huge hit split Chopper's body in half and flipped Ender onto its front, leaving it stranded. Chopper's lower body still spun and Ender was counted out, giving Chopper the win by KO.

Damage to Ender's chassis after the match. Ender's frame remained solid but armor pealed away from it and the plate where the contact points were mounted was dented in multiple places.

Chopper vs Manta
Chopper's next opponent was a rookie eggbeater in Manta. In the first charge, the spinners went weapon-to-weapon and Chopper whacked Manta sideways hard enough to pull its drive wheel along its axle, partially disabling the eggbeater spinner. In the same hit Chopper shot under Manta and hit its contact point mounting, knocking it off and winning by KO in one hit.

Chopper vs Free Ripping (winners' bracket semifinal)
Chopper was blasted apart in three hits, losing by KO again.

Chopper vs MicroWave (elimination bracket semifinal)
Chopper hit MicroWave very hard again and again, eventually blasting the chassis apart, winning in a dominant KO and advancing to the finals.

Chopper vs Free Ripping (final)
Chopper broke in half in two hits and tapped out, finally being eliminated.

All-Team Tournament 6.0
Chopper vs Cutie
Chopper faced another rookie eggbeater, this one the small but sturdy Cutie. Chopper landed repeated hits but was unable to disable the other 'bot until engagement number five, where it won by KO.

Chopper vs MicroWave
Chopper faced yet another rematch with MicroWave. As the fight went on, Chopper was able to hit MW's left wheel again and again, nearly ripping the tire off its rim. The gear holding MicroWave's spinning Disc on worked its way off and launched on the fifth hit, but this did not impact the rest of the match.
On the ninth hit, Chopper hit MW hard enough to flip the horizontal spinner. MicroWave attempted to self-right but failed to and was counted out, giving Chopper another win by KO.

Chopper vs Free Ripping (winners' bracket semifinal)
Chopper took heavy damage and was knocked out in the sixth engagement. It joined the elimination bracket.

Chopper vs Not That Cute (elimination bracket semifinal)
Chopper's next opponent was Not That Cute, a large top spinner from Trent. Chopper lost by KO in the fourth hit and was eliminated.

Trivia
  • Chopper has fought more matches than any other Legobot in history (78) and has more wins than any other bot (47).
  • Chopper has more title wins than any other top spinner in history (5).
  • Chopper has had the longest hiatus between championship wins (7 tournaments) and the longest loss streak of a former champion (5 consecutive losses).
  • Chopper has a 26-8 (.765) record against rookies.
  • Chopper once went 11 fights without being KO'd, tying Floppy for fourth place in this category.

Undertaker vs Chopper
Undertaker and Chopper met weapon-to-weapon and the hit blasted Undertaker's entire weapon mounting off the body. This unbalanced the rest of the bot, leaving the front contact points off the ground. Undertaker lost by KO.

Undertaker vs Chopper
This rematch was due to Chopper's losing to Skeleton. The fight again ended in one hit, this time a massive shot by Chopper to the front of Undertaker, ripping its frame in half. Undertaker lost by KO again and was eliminated.

Damage to Undertaker's frame after the hit.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 30
Undertaker vs RadioWave
Undertaker damaged RadioWave's bar and armor and won by tapout.

Undertaker vs Skeleton
Next up for Undertaker was three-time champion and hugely destructive vert Skeleton. After a couple solid hits where it proved to have the advantage due to its slightly higher tip speed, Undertaker's weapon shot out a tiny technic piece, then stopped due to a shaft coming loose. Dutch tapped out.

Undertaker vs RadioWave
RadioWave forfeited as Dutch wanted to concentrate on Undertaker.

Undertaker vs Skeleton
Skeleton had lost its heavy-hitting match with Chopper, and Undertaker had another chance to fight it.
Undertaker damaged Skeleton's bar and weapon mount on the first hit. It then hit Skeleton hard enough that the champ's momentum broke its right-side stability prong (which was a brown plate). After a couple more shots, Undertaker got a huge hit that violently ripped the top off Skeleton's wedge and flipped it over for an incredibly impressive KO. It advanced to the finals in only its second tournament to face Chopper for the third time.

Undertaker vs Chopper
Before the tournament, Dutch had added ablative armor to the front of Undertaker in anticipation of this fight. The right-side armor did its job, absorbing the first hit but being easily ripped off. Chopper then landed a big hit on the exposed chassis, in the same spot it had impacted to rip Undertaker in half the previous tournament. However, the impact did absolutely no visible damage to Undertaker this time.
After a couple more hits, which were fairly even, Chopper caught the other side of the frame and, transmitting force through the ablative armor chunk, tore Undertaker's frame in two the same way it had previously. Undertaker was KO'd and eliminated.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 31
Undertaker vs Rob
Undertaker was given the #2 seed and first faced rookie hammerbot Rob.
Skeleton won by tapout after tearing Rob's wedge and front armor apart.

Undertaker vs Launch Break II
Undertaker's next fight was against another rookie, this one the powerful flipper Launch Break II.
Undertaker landed many impressive hits on LBII, but these mostly served to send itself flying, and in the first two hits it lost two of its four front contact points. Eventually its weapon hub split enough to stop spinning and shortly after it was overturned and counted out, joining the losers' bracket against a second rookie flipper, Pancake.

Undertaker vs Pancake
Undertaker disabled Pancake's flipper arm on the first hit and continued to destroy the rookie, smashing off most of the chassis but flipping several times (including a full summersault) and losing almost half its weapon disk. The fight went to JD and Undertaker was ruled the winner.
This win put Undertaker up against MicroWave.

Undertaker vs MicroWave
Undertaker forfeited as Dutch wanted to focus on MicroWave.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 32
Undertaker vs Crater Creator
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/battlebots/images/1/1c/Riptide_Shatter_WCVII_Lexan_hit.gif/revision/latest?cb=20230511152245
Undertaker's first match of the season was against rookie hammerbot Crater Creator. CC tried to get the advantage by firing into Undertaker's spinner but failed to disable Undertaker's weapon, which blasted chunks off CC's wedge before ripping the hammer mounting out—at which point Crater Creator tapped out. Next up for Undertaker was a rematch with Chopper.

Undertaker vs Chopper

Undertaker first took a hit to the front armor which dented a plate and split the frame slightly. The next hit landed lower down and split Undertaker's entire chassis in two from top to bottom. Undertaker was counted out and joined the elimination bracket.

Undertaker vs MicroWave
Undertaker forfeited again.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 33
Undertaker vs Unnamed II
Undertaker's first fight of the tournament was against returning runner-up Unnamed II. The bots went weapon-to-weapon twice before a huge hit ripped Undertaker entirely in half. Undertaker lost by KO and joined the losers' bracket.

Undertaker vs MicroWave

This was the first time the two had actually fought. Undertaker took a hit to the side of its weapon which ripped off half the tooth and heavily damaged the disk. Undertaker tapped out and was eliminated.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 34
Undertaker vs Manta
Undertaker was first matched up against Dutch's rookie Manta, a powerful eggbeater spinner storing only slightly less energy than Undertaker itself.
Undertaker ran a specialized fork attachment in front, designed to deflect Manta's eggbeater and hopefully slow it down before weapon-on-weapon impact.
This proved ineffectual in the first engagement. As the two massive verts collided, Undertaker was thrown back (due to a combination of lower tip speed and higher-set weapon) and the forks were torn off and scattered around the room. On the next hit Undertaker lost a huge weapon tooth and some of its disk. This imbalanced the weapon and made it increasingly difficult to control. Eventually Manta's weapon mounts broke and it lost spin. The two continued ramming until Undertaker's gearbox housing split, killing the unbalanced spinner. The fight went to a judges' decision which Undertaker lost, putting it in the losers' bracket.

Damage to Undertaker after the fight.

Undertaker vs Manta
Undertaker was unfortunately placed up against Manta again in the elimination bracket. Dutch went without the fork attachment this time.
The first engagement, however, went much the same as last time. Undertaker lost the tip speed war and was kicked up and back. By the end of the third engagement its weapon was barely functional and it tapped out and was thus eliminated.

All-Team Tournament 6.0
Undertaker vs Slippy Wheels
Undertaker was seeded against Ethan's hitherto unsuccessful eggbeater Slippy Wheels.
Undertaker lost the tip speed war and was immediately kicked backward in the first engagement, landing on its back with other damage taken. Undertaker was counted out and lost by KO in one hit, continuing its winless streak against eggbeater spinners.

Undertaker vs Manta
Manta forfeited due to heavy damaged sustained against Trent's top spinner Not That Cute. Next up for Undertaker was a match with RadioWave.

Undertaker vs RadioWave
The two spinners inflicted heavy damage on each other and each went the distance. Finally Undertaker won a very close JD and advanced to face MicroWave again.

Undertaker vs MicroWave
Dutch, due to limited pit time, decided not to repair Undertaker in any significant way from its fight with RadioWave. Thus, Undertaker entered this match already heavily damaged.
The fight went poorly for Undertaker as MicroWave cut directly through one of the supporting struts for Undertaker's weapon, snapping the technic bar in half. Four hits in and Undertaker was flipped on its back or front and counted out, eliminating it.

Trivia
  • Undertaker was the most powerful vertical spinner of all time.
  • Undertaker also possesses the dubious distinction of being the only bot to be one-hit KO'd on four separate occasions (Chopper, Chopper, MicroWave, Slippy Wheel). Two of those KO's occurred in the same tournament, both at the hands of Chopper.

History
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 24
MicroWave vs Thumper
MicroWave lost its weapon but rammed Thumper's eggbeater apart, winning a judges' decision.

MicroWave vs Chopper
MicroWave and Chopper spun up and charged. The first hit bent MicroWave's wedge and knocked a brick off. The second took another piece off the wedge and separated layers throughout the chassis, making the gears slip. Dutch tapped out and MicroWave lost by technical KO.

MicroWave vs Sweeper
Dutch pulled Sweeper out so he could focus on MicroWave. MicroWave next faced the massive and feared vertical spinner Skeleton.

MicroWave vs Skeleton
MicroWave quickly chopped Skeleton's bar in half and knocked the mounting loose and MicroWave's Coffin bar lost a tooth and started to peal apart. MicroWave also flipped itself several times, but righted itself each time. MicroWave won a close judge's decision.

MicroWave vs Tank
Dutch went with the I-Beam this time. The entire weapon housing flew off on the first big hit, and the fight was reduced to ramming. MicroWave was overturned, but Dutch shocked everybody by driving into the leg of a couch with his inverted wedge, self-righting. However, MicroWave was soon flipped again and this time lost a contact point. It was counted out and eliminated from the tournament.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 25
MicroWave vs Scrambler
MicroWave's new bar, the Bar Of Holy Wrath, initially worked and took pieces off David's weapon, but then was completely destroyed on one end after David aggressively rammed into its arc. MicroWave was eventually flipped, and, as it'd lost its weapon but not all of the mounting, was stuck. MicroWave was counted out and lost by KO.

MicroWave vs MilliByte 2
Dutch went with the Disc and won easily, going up against rookie and fellow horizontal spinner A Bone To Pick, which had handily beaten Skeleton.

MicroWave vs A Bone To Pick
MicroWave used its Disc weapon to tear Bone's bar apart to both driver's surprise. MicroWave continued to land good shots and won a judge's decision.

MicroWave vs Skeleton
MicroWave went with The Coffin again for this rematch. It was able to damage Skeleton's spinner, and Ethan stopped using it. Unfortunately, MicroWave's bar lost a tooth hitting the stationary bar of Skeleton, and then the weapon housing broke off again. MicroWave was flipped and was unable to self-right, being counted out and eliminated.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 26
MicroWave vs Chopper
MicroWave's first round fight was a rematch with Chopper. While it took damage to its weapon, armor and frame, it was able to win by KO, moving on to face former champion flipper Floppy.

MicroWave vs Floppy
MicroWave used the Disc. The very even fight went to JD with neither able to land a crippling hit. MicroWave won 6-5 and advanced to the final of the undefeated bracket to face Skeleton a third time.

MicroWave vs Skeleton
For this rematch Dutch had crafted the Cutout bar, based on the real BattleBot Bloodsport's THICC bar. However, it split apart in the weapon-to-weapon hits, and MicroWave lost by KO when it was flipped onto its back side. It joined the losers' bracket for a rematch with Floppy.

MicroWave vs Floppy
MicroWave was unable to do much damage and lost.

MicroWave vs Scrambler (exhibition match)
MicroWave used its new Quadbar for this match, but though it did some damage to the top of Scrambler, its frame was rammed apart and MicroWave lost by KO.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 27
MicroWave vs A Bone To Pick
MicroWave lost and joined the losers' bracket.

MicroWave vs Chopper
MicroWave took a few massive hits to the front that split its armor and disabled its weapon drive, but Chopper broke apart soon. MicroWave won by KO.

MicroWave vs Floppy
MicroWave lost again and was eliminated from the tournament.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 28
MicroWave vs Skeleton
MicroWave ran the Disc for this match, but because of this weapon's shorter reach took ramming damage to its front early on. Powerful hits sent in onto its back once, but also disabled Skeleton's spinner. MicroWave won a JD, getting revenge for its previous losses.

MicroWave vs Chopper
Dutch went with the new weapon option "Disco", a small, light disc for easy driving. Massive shots from Chopper knocked MicroWave into the air twice, taking a small plate out of its front armor before a titanic hit sent MicroWave flying, landing on its back with a shattered frame. MicroWave's weapon was disabled and it was counted out, moving Dutch to the losers' bracket, where it would face Skeleton for the fifth time.

MicroWave vs Skeleton
Instead of the Disc, Dutch opted this time for a new Long bar, which required a specialized handle for pushing due to MicroWave's small size. MicroWave did very well in the opening hits, damaging Skeleton's own bar and showing control. Then a huge hit from its spinner sent MicroWave flying, and blew Skeleton's bar in two. However, the front contact point on MicroWave had been knocked off, which spelled an instant KO since the handle for the Long bar prevented the back two from making contact with the floor. MicroWave was counted out and eliminated from the tournament.

MicroWave vs Floppy (exhibition match)
MicroWave won a JD.

MicroWave vs Skeleton (exhibition match)
MicroWave lost a JD.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 29
MicroWave vs Wounder
MicroWave started its bracket by facing off against another of Dutch's bots, this one the superheavyweight vertical disc spinner Wounder. MicroWave used the Disc to knock both weapon towers off Wounder, doing more damage to the frame before Wounder tapped out. MicroWave started its season with an impressive victory.

MicroWave vs Floppy

MicroWave ran the Disc again and, while it struggled to land a solid hit, it did get a couple. However, it was also sent flying repeatedly by Floppy's ramming attacks. The fight went to JD and MicroWave won another even more impressive victory.

MicroWave vs Skeleton
MicroWave ran the Quadbar and knocked Skeleton's weapon out of its mountings, shocking Ethan. However, as the fight continued, its own bar took heavy damage before its weapon mounting was knocked out of the chassis. Dutch tapped out and MicroWave joined the elimination bracket.

MicroWave vs Floppy (losers' bracket final)
MicroWave ran the Long bar and Handle for superior reach, but struggled to land a shot. Eventually its entire frame was rammed in half and it lost by tapout in a discouraging end to a bright-looking season.

MicroWave's destroyed chassis after the match.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 30
MicroWave vs Chopper
MicroWave fielded its latest armor setup, with a side plate added with SNOT (Studs Not On Top). This plate was soon ripped off by the top spinner, and MicroWave began to take damage to its wedge. MicroWave was still able to control the fight decently well, and by the ninth hit had at least a shot at the win. However, on the tenth charge Chopper ripped the left side wheel off, KO'ing MicroWave and sending to the elimination bracket.

MicroWave vs RadioWave
RadioWave was a nearly identical MicroWave alternate design created by Dutch. David drove it in this fight, and it ran the Disc. MicroWave ran the massive Turtle disc, a hugely destructive weapon storing a similar energy level to Circle of Death's bar. As the fight began both bots were sent flying by the impacts, with MicroWave looking to be in control, but the Turtle soon started to come apart and ended up breaking to such an extent that it was heavily imbalanced and Dutch decided to tap out. MicroWave was eliminated from the tournament.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 31
MicroWave vs Launch Break II
MicroWave was seeded #4 and first fought Launch Break II, a rookie flipper also built by Dutch.
MicroWave opened the fight with several hits with its new "Graveyard" bar, lightly damaging LBII, but failed to get a good grab into its front armor and ended up losing its weapon mount on a big hit. MicroWave tapped out and joined the elimination bracket.

MicroWave vs Bobcat

MicroWave faced off against another of Dutch's rookies, this one a powerful eggbeater named Bobcat. MicroWave used another new weapon for this match, this one dubbed the Thick bar. The first hit took a chunk out of a plate on the counterweight of Bobcat's eggbeater, and Microwave continued to do damage until its weapon mount fell out again, leaving it without its spinner. However, Dutch was able to control the fight against the barely functional Bobcat, and MicroWave won a JD.

MicroWave vs Rob
Rob, a rookie hammerbot, forfeited due to all the damage (the loss of basically the front quarter of the bot) it had suffered at the hands of Undertaker in its previous fight. This put MicroWave in the third round of the elimination bracket for a rematch with Skeleton.

MicroWave vs Skeleton

Again running the anti-vert Thick bar, MicroWave entered this fight with a reinforced weapon mount. The first hit was directly weapon-on-weapon, sending MicroWave soaring and landing upside down, and leaving Skeleton with a split tooth. Dutch managed to self-right with only a few seconds left on the count and the bots lined up for another hit. This one was again weapon-on-weapon, and MicroWave inflicted minor damage on Skeleton's spinner. The third hit was a huge impact that sent MicroWave flying and heavily damaged Skeleton's spinner. MicroWave continued to inflict damage, eventually taking the entire weapon system off Skeleton, though on of the hits ripped a contact point off its own Handle. On the tenth hit MicroWave split Skeleton's chassis in half. Skeleton was counted out and MicroWave moved on.

MicroWave vs Undertaker
Undertaker forfeited.

MicroWave vs Launch Break II (elimination bracket final)
LBII forfeited. This put MicroWave in the finals for the first time.

MicroWave vs Chopper (finals)

MicroWave ran the Disc. The first hit was straight to the front armor and knocked MicroWave into the air. After this MicroWave was able to engage with its weapon and the hits sent both bots flying. MicroWave's Disc took a bit of tooth damage but worked fine until a massive collision knocked the weapon shaft out of the mounting in a similar fashion to what had happened to RadioWave twice earlier. With no weapon MicroWave was reduced to a wedgebot and the next hit sent it tumbling, landing upside down. MicroWave lost by KO and was eliminated.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 32
MicroWave vs Pancake
MicroWave was given the #2 seed and first fought the hand-powered flipper Pancake. MicroWave ran a new asymmetrical "key" blade for this fight, dubbed the Key Toe Diet.
MicroWave started the fight with repeated big hits, some of the largest it had ever dished out, ripping apart Pancake's chassis and sending itself flying. However, its blade hopped up on the weapon shaft again, leaving the body vulnerable to ramming attacks. What was left of Pancake managed to ram MicroWave hard enough to smash the frame in two, much like what had happened with Floppy previously. MicroWave tapped out and joined the elimination bracket.

MicroWave vs RadioWave
RadioWave forfeited due to MicroWave's better chances at a deep run.

MicroWave vs Undertaker
Ditto.

MicroWave vs Unnamed II
MicroWave's next opponent was rookie top spinner Unnamed II. The two horizontals fired up but MicroWave was unable to bring its Disc into play and took heavy frontal damage before losing its right wheel to a shot from the FBS. As this wheel drove the weapon system, MicroWave has left weaponless and on one wheel. The fight went to JD and MicroWave lost, eliminating it.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 33
MicroWave vs Pancake Mix
MicroWave's first fight of the tournament was against Pancake's successor, the much larger Pancake Mix. MicroWave ran the Key Toe Diet and the accompanying handle. However, the blade struggled to engage against PM's sloped armor. On the third exchange MicroWave's weapon shaft once again ripped out and the bot ended up weaponless and upside down. Losing by KO, MicroWave fell to 0-1 and joined the elimination bracket.

MicroWave vs Undertaker
MicroWave ran the Thick Bar 2.0 and won by tapout when it ripped a chunk off Undertaker's weapon tooth.

MicroWave vs Chopper
MicroWave ran the Disc and no handle once again. MicroWave spun backwards to go weapon-to-weapon but took the first hit to its chassis. The massive collision split MicroWave's frame, gouged out an internal axle, and ripped all the plates off the underside. With a jammed gearbox and no contact points other than its wheels, MicroWave was counted out and eliminated.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 34
MicroWave vs Slippy Wheel
MicroWave was seeded against Ethan's new eggbeater spinner, Slippy Wheel. For this match Dutch selected the Thick Bar 2.0.
On the first hit MicroWave's bar took a blow from below. However, all that happened was that one end lost a tiny tooth insert and the blade itself hopped up on the axle, dropping back down immediately. In the second hit MicroWave disabled Slippery Wheel's weapon. In the third engagement MicroWave took the whole weapon off. Slippery Wheels tapped out and MicroWave won by technical KO. Up next was the rookie flipper Manticore, also built by Dutch.

MicroWave vs Manticore
MicroWave was unable to land a hit and lost by KO when it was flipped. It joined the losers' bracket for a fight with another rookie, this one the incredibly durable vert Ender.

MicroWave vs Ender
MicroWave quickly split Ender's disk in half and knocked it out of the weapon housing. On the next hit MicroWave's Thick bar hit Ender's plow, ripping it nearly entirely off, but broke at one end and flew off the shaft. MicroWave continued to ram Ender, knocking its plow the rest of the way off, and eventually ramming its contact points off. MicroWave defeated Ender by KO, the first robot to do so by pure damage, and advanced to face the eggbeater Manta.

MicroWave vs Manta
MicroWave first disabled Manta's weapon in the first engagement. The next hit further damaged Manta and it tapped out, giving MicroWave the win by technical KO and a place in the elimination bracket semifinal against Chopper.

MicroWave vs Chopper (elimination bracket semifinal)
MicroWave ran the Thick Bar 2.0 (with the Can't Handle It) for the fourth time this tournament. However, it lose by KO as Chopper exploded its chassis. MicroWave was counted out and eliminated.

MicroWave was essentially completely destroyed by Chopper.

All-Team Tournament 6.0
MicroWave vs Slippy Wheel
MicroWave first got a rematch with the eggbeater.
MicroWave ran the Disc, spun up, and instantly exploded Slippy Wheel into three separate chunks, kicking itself back into the air with its own recoil and almost striking Dutch in the face. Slippy Wheel was utterly destroyed, with a large piece of its armor found over 15 feet away, and MicroWave won a memorable KO.

MicroWave vs Chopper
MicroWave took repeated hits to its left wheel, nearly ripping the tire off its rim. The gear holding MicroWave's spinning Disc on worked its way off and launched on the fifth hit, but this did not impact the rest of the match.
On the ninth hit, Chopper hit MW hard enough to flip it. MicroWave attempted to self-right but failed to and was counted out, sent to the elimination bracket.

MicroWave vs Undertaker
Dutch, due to limited pit time, decided not to repair Undertaker in any significant way from its previous fight against MicroWave's twin RadioWave. Thus, Undertaker entered this match already heavily damaged.
MicroWave cut directly through one of the supporting struts for Undertaker's weapon, snapping the technic bar in half. On the fourth hit Undertaker was declared knocked out, allowing MicroWave to advance.

MicroWave vs Not That Cute
MicroWave in turn was knocked out in four hits and eliminated.

Trivia
  • MicroWave is essentially a more advanced remake of the older Fallen Windmill.
  • Despite never yet winning a championship, MicroWave has seven wins against bots that have won a championship.

Blade construction
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
Clockwise from top left: A replica of an early vertical brick constructed bar, Fallen Windmill's "I-Beam" plate constructed bar, Fallen Windmill's "Balance Beam" plate constructed bar with supporting bricks, and a brick constructed bar with plate constraints.

Spinners usually use weapon bars and blades to impact the opponent. The construction of these bars varies from one bot to another. The two main types are brick construction and plate construction.

Brick Construction

Bite Force II with a brick bar (held together with plates)
Brick construction refers to bars that are primarily made of standard lego bricks. Though brick bars almost always require plates to hold their pieces together, the attack impact is usually taken by the bricks.
While lego bricks bend less than plates, brick bars are usually weaker and less tough.
Hand-powered overhead horizontal Executioner used a plate-constrained brick bar. Though they had mostly fallen out of favor by Patterson-Seibert Tournament 18.0, Tearnado III used plate-constrained brick teeth to win the championship twice.

Plate Construction
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
GyroWave with one of its plate bars.
Plate construction refers to bars that are made primarily or totally of Lego plates. These bars are thus usually made up of several thin layers.
Plate bars were first used by full-body spinners. Their first appearances in more complex mechanical weapons came with GyroWave and Left Hook.
Plate bars are generally superior to brick bars, being tougher, denser, and more compact. However, they are more prone to bending.

Offset horizontal spinners

Offset horizontal spinners are horizontal spinners that are not centered on the bot. So far in Lego BattleBots they have always been bar spinners placed at the front of the bot. The most successful offset was runner-up Tank, but others include Mad Dog, Reaper, and Tombstone.

Advantages
  • Like other horizontals, offsets can be quite destructive.
  • Offsets are generally more stable than overheads.
  • Offsets are usually lower to the ground than overheads, meaning that they can be more likely to land big hits.
  • Offsets can be very maneuverable, and be used for swinging attacks to the sides of opponents.
  • Offsets can also be made invertible, though no bot has done this yet.

Disadvantages
  • Due to the large distance from the wheels to the weapon axle, offsets are difficult to gear.
  • Offsets, due to their design usually not being optimized for the ground game, are very vulnerable to flippers.
  • Like all horizontals offsets normally do very poorly against wedges.
  • Offsets are more limited size-wise than offsets, because their blades are at medium height and thus must be shorter to avoid hitting the chassis while still maintaining a reasonable spin-up time.
