Horizon

Horizon was a heavyweight Lego BattleBot that competed in All-Team Tournament 4.0. It was a sloped bot (officials declared it to not be a wedge as it had pieces sticking up) with a wedge in front and a horizontal bar spinner capable of perhaps just under 400 rpms.
Later a bot named Horizon 1.1 competed.

Stats
Length: 11 inches
Weight: 360 grams
Class: Heavyweight
Fighting average: 0.600 (3 wins out of 5 fights)
Weapons: Horizontal spinning bar, front wedge
Weapon KE: Probably around 2 J
Minibots: None
Status: Retired and scrapped

History
All-Team Tournament 4.0
Horizon was seeded No.4 and its first fight was against Dutch's spinning top National Debt.

Horizon vs National Debt
Horizon's wedge enabled it to win this fight by OOTA (Out Of The Arena) KO and advance to the second round, where it faced the dreaded Son of Razor, which has just knocked another of Trent's bots, I Don't Know, OOTA.

Horizon vs Son of Razor
Horizon's wedge didn't hold up the impacts, and SOR won by KO. Horizon fell to 1-1 and joined the losers' bracket, facing I Don't Know first.

Horizon vs I Don't Know (Losers' Bracket Semifinals)
Dutch drove I Don't Know. Horizon flipped the other bot and won by an OOTA KO.

Horizon vs Spinner (Losers' Bracket Final)
Next up for Horizon was a match against Spinner, yet another top. Horizon won by OOTA again and advanced to the Top Three.

Horizon vs Son of Razor (Semifinal)
Horizon lost the same way as last time and was eliminated.

Double Beak Griffin

Double Beak Griffin (formerly Griffin) was a heavyweight bot that competed in All-Team Tournament 4.0, reaching the second round before being defeated by eventual champion Circle of Death.

Stats
Diameter: 10 inches
Weight: 388 grams (formerly over 900)
Class: Heavyweight (formerly overweight)
Fighting average: 0.333 (1 win out of 3 fights)
Weapons: Two rubber-band powered hammers (formerly gear-powered vertical bar spinner)
Minibots: None
Status: Destroyed and retired

History
All-Team Tournament 3.0
Griffin could not enter, as it weighed in at over 900 grams.

All-Team Tournament 4.0
Griffin was seeded No.2.

Double Beak Griffin vs Anonymous
First up for Griffin was the No.7 seed and spinning top Anonymous, another of Trent's creations. Griffin won by KO and advanced to the second round, to fight the No.1 seed, Circle of Death.

Double Beak Griffin vs Circle of Death
The first hit from CoD tore off one of Griffin's hammers. After another or maybe two more hits, Griffin's frame collapsed and the countdown started. Dutch asked Trent if he could hit him again, and Trent said yes. CoD landed a few more hits on what was left of Griffin as the latter was counted out.

Double Beak Griffin vs Spinner
Because Griffin had been basically completely destroyed by Circle of Death, Trent forfeited this match and Griffin was thus eliminated.

Circle of Death
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Circle of Death was a bot built by Dutch which competed in All-Team Tournament 4.0, winning the title, and in two other tournaments, winning titles there also.

Stats
Length: 9.5 inches
Weight: 422 grams
Class: Superheavyweight
Weapons: Horizontal spinning bar, front wedge
Weapon KE: 19 J
Minibots: None
Fighting average: 0.900 (9 wins out of 10 fights)
Titles: 2 All-Team Tournaments (4.0, 5.0), 1 Patterson-Seibert Tournament (13.0)
Status: Retired and scrapped

Design
"Circle of Death is designed to fight Left Hook Jr. The weapon is designed to destroy Ethan's, and the wedge is designed to let me drive over his so I can take out his weapon."
—Dutch

"Remember GyroWave? It could rip into almost any armor. Circle of Death hits more than ten times as hard—not far below Son of Razor, but with superior bite and a reduced recoil."
—Dutch

"I can hit something so hard the bar breaks in half and the gears won't slip."
—Dutch

History
All-Team Tournament 4.0
Circle of Death vs Spinner
Circle of Death did shockingly poorly at first, with its gears slipping (Dutch had forgotten to check them before the fight) and Spinner landing hits on the front. Suddenly Spinner shot up CoD's wedge, flew out of the arena, and was counted out. CoD won by KO and advanced to the second round to fight the No.2 seed, Double Beak Griffin.

Circle of Death vs Double Beak Griffin
CoD tore off one of DBG's hammers on the first hit. Next CoD landed a big hit that smashed DBG's frame. Dutch asked Trent if he could hit him again, and Trent said yes. CoD landed a few more hits on what was left of the other bot before DBG was counted out and CoD advanced to the finals, where it fought Son of Razor.

Circle of Death vs Son of Razor (finals)
"You know why my bar broke? I held it together with a two-by-one plate. I didn't realize that that end of the bar had what was effectively a perfect structural failure point in the middle. I have to fix that."
—Dutch
The first hit was a massive weapon-to-weapon collision that broke Circle of Death's bar in half and staggered SoR. Now terribly unstable, CoD attempted to make a comeback, but could not land a hit as it bounced around. Then it took a terrific shot from SoR and lifted into the air, almost flipping. SoR was clearly winning now and the two bots kept charging, but then one of SoR's blades came out. Now it too was unbalanced. CoD took another shot or two to its wedge, and SoR destroyed itself and was counted out. Circle of Death won the title.

Patterson-Seibert Tournament 13.0
Circle of Death vs Unnamed
CoD's first shot send Unnamed out of the arena. Unnamed was counted out and CoD advanced to the second round to fight Phoenix.

Circle of Death vs Phoenix
CoD's hits broke off both ends of Phoenix's bar, then chewed into its frontal armor. Then, on the eighth hit, CoD hit Phoenix again, which knocked its own right wheel off. CoD was counted out and suffered its first loss, joining the losers bracket to fight Unnamed again.

Circle of Death vs Unnamed
Circle of Death won again, but it was closer. CoD advanced to fight Ethan's newest creation, the hammerbot Squash.

Circle of Death vs Squash (losers' bracket finals)
CoD won by KO and advanced to the top three, set to face Phoenix again.

Circle of Death vs Phoenix
The fight went much the same as the first time, except that CoD's wheel didn't come off and the fight went to JD. CoD won and advanced to the finals to face Son of Razor for the second time.

Circle of Death vs Son of Razor (finals)
Early on, SOR jumped and landed on top of CoD, then fell back off. SOR was OOTA'd multiple times, but got back in the first time or two. Then CoD rammed it out again, and this time the top was counted out. Circle of Death was crowned champion again.

Patterson-Seibert test matches
Circle of Death vs Left Hook Jr.
The builders had wanted this fight for quite a while. Circle of Death lost the first two fights when it flipped due to the power of its weapon, but won the third.

Circle of Death won by KO, tearing off the top section of LHJ.

Circle of Death vs Sting (finals)
Circle of Death won by OOTA and took the title again.

Trivia
  • Circle of Death won its first fight by OOTA in both tournaments it entered. Only one of its fights went to JD.
  • Circle of Death was the most powerful overhead horizontal spinner ever.
  • Every loss CoD suffered (including exhibition matches) was due at least partly to its own weapon's power.

Shell spinners

Shell spinners are one of the two kinds of full-body spinners (the other kind being tops). Shell spinners are normal bots that are covered with spinning shells. No shell spinner has ever been successful.

Spinning tops

Tops are one type of full-body spinner that are spun by hand. Unlike shell spinners, where the weapon is a revolving outer shell, with tops the entire bot spins. The most famous of these have been Son of Razor and the three-time champion Chopper.
